Alzheimer’s Care
At Solus Support Services, we understand how important it is to provide compassionate, person-centred care—especially for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease. Many people with Alzheimer’s prefer to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes for as long as possible. Our role is to help make that both safe and achievable.
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia. It is caused by physical changes in the brain and may include symptoms such as:
- Memory loss
- Difficulty with speech and understanding
- Periods of confusion
- Changes in mood or behaviour
- Reduced mobility
- Increased apathy
- Loss of confidence
Alzheimer's Support at Solus
Solus Support Services offers personalized, respectful support designed to maintain independence, dignity, and choice. We work closely with individuals, families, and other professionals to create care that is tailored to each person’s abilities, routines, and communication style.
A Care Coordinator will visit to complete a free care assessment and develop a customized care plan based on your goals and needs. Our approach focuses on:
- Familiar routines to create structure and comfort
- Gentle communication strategies
- Meaningful activities that promote purpose and engagement
- Support that adapts as needs change
