If you are an experienced, dedicated, and skilled individual who

  • Advanced skills and knowledge in working with seniors with psychosocial issues

  • Working knowledge of issues related to aging and senior care and support

  • A minimum of two years working in a community setting

  • Holds a College Diploma/University Degree Certificate in a related Health or Social Care Discipline (CYW, DSW, SSW, PSW, etc.)

    Has experience in following life skills and community support plans

  • Has well developed interpersonal communication skills

  • Willing to commit to our ongoing educational requirements

  • Vulnerable Police Sector Screening

  • Driver’s License preferred

  • 3 References required

  • Medical Clearance

  • • Up to date TB test (two-step)

    • Valid First Aid and CPR certification

    • Valid Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) Certificate, with annual recertification

    • An understanding of the types of intervention used in community-based support services

    • An understanding of the roles of other health and social care professions

    • Ability to break down the activity into achievable goals

    • Ability to recognize problems experienced by clients

    • Experience in working with a range of age groups

    • Able to participate in supervision and make positive use of it, as well as accept direction

    • Good communication skills to ensure the development of effective therapeutic relationships with clients and their carers. Ability to report informally and formally

    • Organizational and time management skills

    • Personal skills that will assist in the building of rapport with clients, such as patience, empathy, sense of humour, and a flexible approach

    • Ability to support individuals in a variety of life skills such as domestic skills, gardening, home management
